Japan to pay companies to keep sensitive patents secret: Reports

Japan will compensate companies to maintain the secrecy of patents with potential military applications under its proposed economic security legislation, the Nikkei reported on Sunday. This will include patents concerning the development of nuclear weapons and innovations like quantum tech, Nikkei said. PM Kishida pledged last month that he will make economic security a priority.
