As part of its 'Shining Monday' campaign, Japan has urged companies to encourage their employees to start work late on one Monday every month. Japan's Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry tested this idea and found that work was not negatively affected. Notably, death from overwork is reported regularly in Japan and is classified as "karoshi".
