A Japanese diver formed a rare decades-long bond with an Asian sheepshead wrasse near Tateyama in Chiba Prefecture. He had once helped the injured fish recover and fed it until it regained strength 30 years ago. Over time, it appeared to recognise him during his regular visits, allowing close proximity and sometimes physical contact, which is uncommon for wild fishes.
