Japan's Venus probe ‘Akatsuki’ goes silent in space

Japan's Akatsuki spacecraft has lost contact with JAXA, the agency announced on X. Communication was lost in late April due to extended low attitude stability control mode. Launched in 2010, Akatsuki studies Venus's atmosphere, weather patterns, and signs of volcanic activity. Efforts to reestablish contact are ongoing.
