Starting with a meagre budget of ₹1,200 four decades ago in 1986, the open arena of the Jarkhar Sports Festival, popularly known as the rural mini Olympics, has transformed into the ultra-modern Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Complex. The complex is located 12 km south of Ludhiana near the historic Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Alamgir, along the Ludhiana-Malerkotla road.
