Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren announced a loan waiver of up to ₹2 lakh for farmers. He said, "If a farmer is hit by bad weather once, it takes time for him to recover, so we've decided to waive loans up to ₹2 lakh for around 38 lakh registered farmers." With this, loans worth about ₹400.66 crore are being waived off.
