Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government raised the OBC reservation in the state government jobs to 27% from 14%. The cabinet approved a proposal granting 77% reservation in state government jobs for the members of the SC, ST, backward classes, OBC and economically weaker sections. Jharkhand cabinet also gave its nod to use the 1932 land records to determine local inhabitants.
