Jharkhand reported 16,728 malaria cases between January and June 2026, with nearly 76% cases from East and West Singhbhum districts. The state also recorded 77 dengue cases in June. Authorities have directed departments to strengthen surveillance, mosquito control, timely treatment and awareness campaigns to tackle rising vector-borne diseases across the state.
