J&J reaches $205 mn settlement in Australian pelvic mesh class action

Pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has reached a settlement to pay A$300 million ($204.90 million) in two Australian class action suits for selling defective pelvic mesh implants to Australian women. The settlement, largest in a product-liability class action in Australia, follows the Federal Court declaring J&J negligent over the testing and sale of the implants in November 2019.
