JMI forms 7-member panel to address student protests

Jamia Millia Islamia constituted a seven-member high-level committee to engage with protesting students and examine their demands, following a hunger strike on campus. The panel, formed after a meeting of senior officials on October 18, will recommend steps to restore normalcy. The university also addressed long-standing demands for student union elections, discontinued since 2006.
