Todd Phillips' musical psychological thriller Joker 2 received a standing ovation at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. The film which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga received a standing ovation of 11-minutes. Director Todd Phillips was awarded the Golden Lion for Joker in 2019 at the 76th Venice International Film Festival.
