JPMorgan Chase has been fined $4 million (₹32.8 crore) by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US after it accidentally and permanently deleted about 4.7 crore emails. Emails from early 2018 were deleted from 8,700 electronic mailboxes, including those of about 7,500 employees. Many of these emails were business records that JPMorgan was required to retain under regulatory rules.
