JPMorgan employees discuss business on WhatsApp, firm to pay $125 mn fine

JPMorgan Chase subsidiary JP Morgan Securities will pay a $125-million penalty to the US SEC over its business recordkeeping. From at least January 2018 through November 2020, its employees often communicated about business matters on their personal devices, using text messages, WhatsApp, and personal email accounts. None of these records were preserved as required by the federal securities laws.
