Jupiter-like exoplanet smells of rotten eggs: Study

A study by Johns Hopkins University discovered that exoplanet HD 189733 b, a gas giant larger than Jupiter, smells like rotten eggs due to hydrogen sulphide in its atmosphere. Known for its extreme weather, including molten glass rains, this planet is the first exoplanet where hydrogen sulphide was detected. The discovery provides new insights into sulphur's role in exoplanet atmospheres.
