Jupiter's moon Europa might not be habitable, suggests study

A study suggests Jupiter's moon Europa may lack conditions for life. Modelling its subsurface ocean, researchers found that, unlike Earth, the rocky seafloor of Europa is too strong for tectonic or volcanic activity that generates nutrients. Lead author Paul Byrne of Washington University said without such processes, sustaining chemical energy for microbes would be difficult.
