Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi declined an invitation from Mumbai BJP President Ameet Satam to join a mass recital of the National Song Vande Mataram. Azmi said, "Just as you cannot join me in offering Namaz, I cannot sing Vande Mataram." BJP's Raj Purohit said, "Vande Mataram should be recited...If you don't love (the country), then go to Pakistan."
