Justice JS Khehar sworn in as India's 44th Chief Justice

Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar on Wednesday took oath as the 44th Chief Justice of India as the tenure of Justice TS Thakur ended. Justice Khehar is India's first Sikh Chief Justice. The 64-year-old, who was administered the oath by President Pranab Mukherjee, will hold the office for 7 months. Notably, he was elevated to the Supreme Court in 2011.
