Patna High Court Chief Justice K Vinod Chandran was elevated to the Supreme Court, bringing its working strength to 33 out of 34. The Supreme Court Collegium recommended his name on January 7, and Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal confirmed the appointment. Justice Chandran, a Kerala High Court judge since 2011, became Patna HC Chief Justice in 2023.
