Karnataka BJP President B Y Vijayendra alleged that Congress-led Karnataka government wants to conduct caste census in the state to divide Hindu religion and Veerashaiva-Lingayat community. "There's no legal provision for government to do caste census, but in name of socio-economic survey, they're trying to do it," Vijayendra said. Karnataka's caste census will be conducted from September 22.
