Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot has sent the Bill giving 4% reservation to Muslims in government contracts to President Droupadi Murmu for assent, PTI reported. Gehlot said the Constitution does not allow for reservations based on religion. The Congress-led Karnataka government's Bill proposes to provide Muslims with a 4% reservation in construction works contracts valued up to ₹1 crore.
