K'taka minister seeks exemption from hoisting flag on I-Day due to lack of time, BJP slams

Karnataka Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan sought exemption from hoisting Tricolour during Independence Day celebrations in Vijayanagara district. "In coming days, there will be a shortage of time...due to elections of many local bodies, including BBMP, assembly by-elections and party organisation," he said. BJP's Amit Malviya called this "shameful, sinister and deeply disrespectful to the nation".
