K'taka teacher writes in blood to seek school grants

A teacher in Karnataka's Shivamogga district wrote a letter in his blood to Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa, seeking aid for Kannada-medium schools, reports said. Prashanth said his 31-year-old school in Shikaripura faces closure due to lack of funding. He urged the government to bring post-1995 Kannada-medium schools under the grant-in-aid system.
