The Karnataka government will now provide menstrual cups in place of sanitary pads to girls in all government schools in the state. The Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department will procure 10,38,912 menstrual cups at a cost of over ₹61 crores for distribution, with officials estimating that the shift to menstrual cups could cut costs by nearly ₹10 crores.
