K’taka vehicles fined ₹10,000 outside due to state’s unlinked pollution data

Karnataka-registered vehicles in other states are being fined ₹10,000 or more because the state government's Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) database is not linked to the central VAHAN portal. This means the AI-powered traffic cameras in states such as Odisha and Goa are flagging these vehicles as having 'expired PUCC' and generating automatic e-challans. This has led to inconvenience.
