K'taka withdraws Bill allowing 5% park land for public use after protests

Karnataka Deputy CM G Parameshwara announced the withdrawal of the Parks Bill amid protests and criticism, which allowed up to 5% of land in parks or gardens under the horticulture department to be used for public purposes. The Bill was passed by the Assembly on August 24 without debate. Parameshwara added the government would reintroduce it in a different form.
