Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to legendary writers and poets of the South on Hindi Diwas. "Krishnadevaraya (Telugu) was as admired in the North as he was in the South. Subramania Bharati's (Tamil) patriotic writings inspire nationalism among youth in every region," he said. "Kabir's dohe (couplets) are also found in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam translations," Shah added.
