Continuous heavy rainfall and multiple landslides across Himachal Pradesh state have forced authorities to temporarily suspend the Kalka-Shimla toy train services until September 5. A part of the track has collapsed near Datiyar in Solan district, and other repairs and debris cleaning work has already started. The state's tourism sector has taken the hardest hit because of the heavy rainfall.
