Karnataka caste census report, which was presented before a cabinet meeting chaired by CM Siddaramaiah, has recommended increasing reservation for Other Backward Classes from 32% to 51%, according to reports. If implemented, this would raise the total reservation in Karnataka to 85%, including 10% for EWS and 24% for SC/ST. It also advised horizontal reservation policies within employment quotas.
