In Vijayapura, Karnataka, Jyoti Dundesh Dalawayi alleged that her husband and in-laws, desperate for a male child, called a sorceress who told them to cut her hair and burn it in a graveyard. Jyoti suffered scalp injuries. Police have registered a case against the husband, sorceress, and parents-in-law. Court proceedings are ongoing.
