In Tumakuru, Karnataka, a man named Surya killed his father, Nagesh, during a late-night argument at an ice cream factory. CCTV footage revealed Surya strangling his father with a cloth and trying to stage the death as electrocution. His friend assisted in the cover-up. Police acted after a complaint from Nagesh's sister, following which Surya was arrested.
