Karnataka plans 1-2% transaction fee on platforms like Zomato, Uber: Report

The Karnataka government is reportedly planning to impose 1-2% fee on every transaction on aggregator platforms such as Zomato, Swiggy, Uber, Ola, Flipkart and Amazon. The fee will be transferred to a welfare board and used to provide social security to gig workers engaged in delivery services, the report said. The move may result in slightly higher costs for consumers.
