Karnataka sets roadmap to cut maternal mortality

Karnataka has introduced a SUMAN Roadmap 2030 to reduce its Maternal Mortality Ratio below 70 per lakh live births from the current 73, based on SRS 2022-24 data. The plan focuses on pre-conception and antenatal care, high-risk pregnancy tracking, emergency response, maternal death reviews, district-level accountability and community participation.
