Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, during his Budget speech on Friday, announced that the Rohith Vemula Act will be enacted to prevent caste-based atrocities against students. The Act aims to protect SC/ST students from discrimination in higher educational institutions. It will be implemented across all government, private and deemed institutions to address caste-based educational and social oppression.
