The RBI said that it has imposed a ₹30 lakh penalty on Karur Vysya Bank for not complying with provisions on fraud classification and reporting by commercial banks. In its inspection, RBI found that Karur Vysya Bank "failed to report a few accounts as frauds to RBI within a week of the respective Joint Lenders' Forum decisions to do so".
