Kasol's ecologically sensitive forest land cleared of dumped waste

A portion of forest land in Himachal Pradesh’s Kasol, part of the ecologically sensitive Parvati Valley, which was used to store and segregate municipal waste, has been completely cleared, the administration said. The NGT took suo motu cognisance in June 2025 after videos showing large waste mounds across forest land went viral. An NGO began waste management operations in May.
