In 1999, Dr Selvaraj opened a modest 30-bed hospital in Trichy by the name of Kauvery Hospital. His aim was to bridge the "trust gap" between patients and hospitals by offering empathetic care. Overtime, he grew to areas such as Paediatrics and Neuroscience. Today, Kauvery has 2,500 beds across 8 hospitals and is valued at ₹1,100 crore
