Kenya has awarded a $2.9 billion contract to a Chinese company to modernise Nairobi airport, two years after a proposed deal with Adani Group collapsed. The contract value is roughly 50% higher than Adani Group’s proposed airport concession. US Department of Justice had raised fraud allegations against the group in a US case, prompting Kenyan President to withdraw their contract.
