Kerala is ageing faster than the rest of India in terms of demographic transition, the Economic Review 2019 tabled by Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Isaac revealed. By 2015, Kerala's 60 plus population increased to 13.1%, against the all India average of 8.3%. Currently, 48 lakh people in Kerala are 60 years and above, with 15% of them being 80 above.
