Kerala Assembly passes new resolution to rename state as 'Keralam'

Kerala Legislative Assembly, in a unanimous decision on Monday, passed a new resolution proposing a Constitutional amendment to change the name of the state to 'Keralam'. The resolution called for invoking Article 3 of the Constitution to effectuate this change in the First Schedule. The Assembly passed the new resolution after Centre returned last year's resolution suggesting changes.
