In an attempt to challenge taboos, Ramnath and Shruthi, a couple from Kerala, had a transgender person as a witness to their wedding. This comes in the light of many still considering the presence of transgender people in ceremonies as inauspicious. The couple also decided that the bride will not wear any gold jewellery in the wedding.
