Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan announced a new Women's Security Scheme providing ₹1,000 monthly pension to women aged 35-60 from poor families, including trans women, who are not covered under any existing social welfare programme. About 31.34 lakh women will benefit from this initiative, he added. Government also launched a ₹1,000 'Connect to Work Scholarship' for youth aged between 18-30 years.
