Kerala panel to probe captured wild elephant's death

A high-level committee headed by Kerala's chief conservator of forests will probe lapses, if any, in the capture of a wild elephant that died after being transported to Karnataka. Called “Thanneer Komban”, the elephant was captured in Wayanad. Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre said animals don't have borders, and objected to branding “wildlife” as belonging to one particular state.
