Kerala permits euthanasia of diseased stray dogs amid rabies surge

Amid a surge in stray dog attacks and rabies-related deaths, the Kerala government has authorised local bodies to euthanise diseased stray dogs as per central guidelines. The decision, announced by Ministers MB Rajesh and J Chinchurani after a high-level meeting, aims to curb health risks while adhering to legal and veterinary protocols for humane euthanasia.
