Kerala health authorities have intensified surveillance after a patient tested positive for Nipah virus in a preliminary test. Samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for confirmation. PPE kits have been distributed, contact tracing is underway, and the patient is being shifted for specialised treatment.
