Kerala researchers uncover 1859 records on Carrington Event

Researchers from the University of Kerala have uncovered 1859 magnetic records from the Trivandrum Observatory offering a rare equatorial view of the Carrington Event. The records indicate a major geomagnetic storm struck on August 29, days before the better-known September 2 event, suggesting the 1859 sequence was more complex than previously understood.
