Anand K Thampi, an RSS activist from Kerala's Thrikkannapuram, died by suicide after allegedly being denied a BJP ticket for local body polls. Police said he was upset that his name wasn’t on candidate list and had announced he would contest independently. Thampi alleged he was denied a ticket due to some local leaders associated with sand-smuggling mafia, police said.
