For over 20 years, Abdul Malik has swum across Kerala’s Kadalundi River to teach math in Malappuram. Avoiding a 12-km commute, he carries lunch and clothes in a plastic bag. Surrounded by water, his school becomes a space for lessons in swimming, environmental values and dedication proving that perseverance can overcome even the toughest challenges.
