Kerala tests advanced drones for fishermen rescue operations

Kerala Fisheries Department tested advanced underwater and aerial drones at Vizhinjam port to modernise locating fishermen and rescue operations. The underwater drone can dive 500 metres, scan a 200-metre radius, lift up to 138 kg and operate for eight hours. The aerial drone can survey 7 sq km in 40 minutes and detect changes in sea conditions and fish-rich areas.
