Responding to a plea filed by the CBI, the Supreme Court has said the agency cannot take any coercive action, including arrest, against Kolkata police chief Rajeev Kumar in connection with the chit fund scams. However, the court directed Kumar to appear before CBI and cooperate with it. This comes amid West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's dharna against CBI action.
