Kottayam hit by back-to-back robberies as thieves strike

Kottayam witnessed back-to-back robberies in Akalakunnam and Pala, with thieves stealing 23 sovereigns of gold from a house and nearly ₹4 lakh from four shops. The house was targeted while the family was away, while CCTV cameras at the shops were damaged before the thefts. Police are investigating both cases using fingerprints, CCTV footage and a dog squad.
